Hey guys

I have a Cosmo short shifter that is functioning all wrong. The shifter was very loose and would even move up and down. It is very hard to shift into gears.

I decided to switch out shifters, after taking everything out i realized it wasn't like the stock shifter, the ball of the shifter is actually mounted to the shifter hole. It's hard to explain so i provided pictures.

This is where i'm at right now. How do i remove this whole sleeve?? i just want the empty hole in order to install another shifter.

If you want a picture from below just ask.

This is where i'm stuck how do i remove this?? The ball thingy in there is smaller than it's housing which i'm sure is the reason for the crappy shifting. Please help, my car is not drivable until i fix this issue.

No One can help me. From what i understand for installation you just shove it in the shifter hole. Taking out all the stock stuff that was there. Would uninstallation be the same, just pull it out. I've tried but i feel like i'm gonna break something.
