aye, lose the caps man. Well, if its leaking oil from around the valve cover...i would suggest getting a new valve cover gasket and replacing it. The turbo..sounds like it needs to be rebuilt. Where exactly is the oil leaking from, on the turbo? How many miles are on your car? What color of smoke is it blowing out? Id assume a blueish gray? That would mean your engine could be toast man. Piston rings...or maybe even a head gasket? Sounds to me like the car has been pretty abused. Over heated way too many times...ran too hard. If thats the case...then....you might want to look into either, another car...another engine...or someone to replace your engine internals. I'm not saying, 100% sure, that your engine is toast..but IMO, that's what it sounds like.
smokin'

All cars need some TLC and maintenance as they get 10+ years old. If you aren't real sure about what the problem may be, take it to a reputable garage and have them look it over.
Check your oil and coolant for cross-contamination, as this would indicate a blown head gasket, if the smoke is whitish in color. Usually this happens when the motor is subjected to extended over-heated conditions. Has your temp gage been redlined recently alot ? This can cause head damage and gasket failure.
If instead it's just the normal old bluish smoke......it's burning oil and the motor's rings or valve seals may need replaced. For more info on checking the turbo, check the 1st Gen Performance sub-forum.
Rather it be the turbo or motor seals-rings-gaskets, it may be still worth rebuilding. You've just reached a turning point as to how much you like the car and how much money you're able to spend on it. Some of this work can become expensive due to the labor costs involved.
Before you write it off, have it professionally evaluated.

MazdaMan knows best about smoking Mx-6s. I'm suurprized the fire department didn't come out a few times. :)

All we can suggest is to have a mechanic take a look at it, it could be as little as your turbo needing a line tightened and a valve cover gasket or could be as extreme as needing your engine and turbo rebuilt.

hmm

see the car is a 1989 mx6 gt turbo, i recently got done throwing in a t3 it had no problems for like 2 weeks then all of sudden it start to throw out this white smoke whenever i would stop at a light, so i took it home and threw the old turbo in and still the same problem, but when i take off it boost right and no smoke, i didnt run it that hard and i watched my oil levels and coolant levels, so far i got a msd coil blaster 2 tanabe exhaust 2.50 pipeing airinx filter greddy boost controller and custom greddy intercooler from a eclipse, beside that i bought the car like 7 months ago or so, and all of sudden it start to do that. but the oil looks like it is coming from the downpipe on booth turbos....
