Seriously you should file rape charges for that one. You can get a complete drive axle with boots installed for about $160. I had my drivers side replaced twice, but the second repair was due to a failure of the first job a month after putting it in. I've heard some people say it is easy to do yourself and other say that shaft is really in there tight. I did not want to risk it so $160 parts and labor is fine with me. Call around and price the shaft, then find someone that won't rape you another $300 to do the job.
