Hi,

Recently i noticed my car was very loud, like i have a turbo and muffler with sound or smth. It started when we got some cold days, and when i start a car it sound very loud and as i said like huge turbo under the hood (deep throttle sound). i have CAI, but it never sounded like that. After warm up the sound goes away.

What do you think, is it normal then the car is cold. I cleaned my CAI, nothing changed.

Thanks.

Most likely you have a leak at the exhaust manifold due to broken/missing hardware. It will seal up when the engine gets hot and the metal expands. This is NOT normal. The leak could also be on the exhaust downpipe or catalytic converter. You will need to remove the heat shield and check all of your studs and nuts to see if they are broken, and if they're good, crawl under the car and check for exhaust leaks.

Sounds like a leaky exhaust manifold gasket to me. Its a pretty easy fix. When your car heats up the metal expands and seals off the leak.

New Gasket is $15 from Mazda. It should take about an hour to do.

Thanks i will check the exhaust. I remember then i was under the car like 6 months ago, i noticed the exhaust was attached to the engine with 1 nut not three nuts, maybe it is broken now. I could not do anything at that time, it was very far away for me to reach with wrench, i will check again.

BTW will i loose some power because of that?

Thanks.

One more thing, I think now the car stalls easier, it idles fine but when i start driving, i noticed it was shaking or jerking if not enough acceleration applied.
Thanks
