hey y'all - biggez here for the first time from the uk. Got me an mx-6 and been playing with it. Now I feel it requires a bigger set of discs on it. Does anyone know of anything I can just pull the brakes off and swap them for? I have been looking at 95' Celica brakes which look like they will fit. Has anyone ever tried? space isnt a problem as it has 17" wheels

Hi Biggez, and welcome.

Here's a link to a thread theat may help you.
http://www.mx6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146915&page=1&pp=15
There's info and links to other sites in there.

There aren't any UK members that have done a brake upgrade (size related).
But you'll find that just changing the pads to a decent make can improve things dramatically.
Personally, I've gone for Tarox drilled/groved front discs and Mintex pads.
The car stops better than stock now... but still wouldn't fill out a 17" wheel.

Pop in to the UK side and say 'Hi' too.

a good upgrade from oem are the brembo rotors, drilled or slotted. what kind of 6 do you have? a good flush of the old brake fluid tends to improve brakes, and also check to make sure your brake lines aren't compromised in any way.
