There are many things to consider, the most obvious of course is the OBDI vs the OBDII. If you are are '96 then you are OBDII, don't replace with anything older. You'll be better off this way anyway because newer engine more likely has less miles and better condition. Who do you plan on getting the new motor from? And are you going JSPEC? Keep these things in mind.
