About the switch near the 'dome' lights....
I put the switch on "Door", but won't go on when I open the doors. The lights do come on if I click the switch. What's wrong here?

Either your door switches are disconnected or burnt, or your wires are disconnected or burnt...or maybe even your switch is just plain rooted...

Nothing serious to worry about

I just want the lights to come on when I open the doors. Is there someway I can tell specifically what's wrong? How do you go about taking the plastic cover off the lights up there?

The cover should pry off from what I recall.

Does the 4 cylinder have the lights on the bottom corner of each door? I know the LS models do. Those come on when the doors are open in mine; that would tell you if the switch is okay.

I have those lights. I'm pretty sure they come on no matter what position the switch is in (DOOR,ON,or OFF).

Those lights should come on when the door is open. I would think they were wired to the same switch as the light up top as far as the door part is concerned, but maybe they're not. I don't remember if the MX6 has one or two switches per door.
