OK, finally I dynoed the J-spec! Here are the numbers: max hp gain of 41.6hp, peak gain of 27.4hp. The max gain was at 5900rpms, so obviosly that turbo is moving way more air than the stocker:) The #'s: 197.3hp, 259.2ft lbs. There was a slight torque loss but I'll take the hp gain any day. My knock senser was really cutting down on the fun though, so I need to use some octane booster to see better numbers (or when I go to the track). The dyno guy said it looked like I was loosing 15+ hp because of the pinging:( Damn that QT 91 octane. Here is a link to the graph. Sorry but the size is messed up. http://www.geocities.com/turbomx666/dyno.jpg

How do you gain hp and lose torque? I'm asking. Does it feel stronger?

His tourque peak moved higher up the tach, and since HP is just tourque applied over distance, the HP went up. In other words, the engine is applying more tourque over a given time period because it's spinning faster at the tourque peak than before.

Try http://www.sunoco.com They sell a gas called GT100. It's 100 octane UNLEADED perfect for turbo computer cars. It's about 3.50 a gallon but worth it for the track. The website gives you the names and addresses of the stations that carry it in your area.
