the stock timing automatically adjusts itself so if your looking for something to control your timing/ignition and fuel mega-squirt is your best option, however might i sugest a suplimentary injector setup, sds eic or greddy rebic IV units are very easy to install (sds more so than the greddy unit, trust me i know i am currently running a rebic IV) and its as easy to adjust as the turn of a couple of knobs, then just get on the dyno and fine tune it or get a wide band O2 and tune it yourself on the fly ( i would highly sugest going with the wide band O2 it was the best investment ive made to date!) either way this route is usually rather cheep, i got my entire Greddy setup with 2 550cc injectors and installation instructions used for 110$ shipped, my air fuel when i dynod looked great. You can probably find these units used on ebay for around $150 or so depending on the supply and demand. Oh and one more note if you do decide to go with an sds or Greddy unit you can upgrade your ignition to an msd 6al, sci or comprable unit fairly cheaply aswell ( I think my sci+moded disty cap+blaster 2 coil+connecting wire=around $200) good luck man...

Emanage can be wired to do a few things, but piggy back is about all it can handle. And for the price its a giant waste if thats all you can do with it.

For all the time and effort I still say Megasquirt. I actually recommended that Nick get the Rebic before. The only thing I dont like about EIC's is they are not a peak and hold fuel delivery system. When you reach full boost the injector duty cycle wont level off, it just keeps adding more and more fuel as the RPM's raise. So if your running 12.0:1 at 4500 rpm's the computers are designed to keep richenning the setup to max RPM even though your at the same boost level. So by the time you get to 7,000 rpm's the AFR wuld be around 11:1. Not the smoothest wayto tune and it can be tricky if you play with variable boost levels all the time.

Megasquirt uses a MAP, ECT, IAT, TPS and several other inputs to detirmine how much fuel should be injected. $140 and 10-12 hours of your time for building it and installation and you can have it on the car and running. I still say go that route. I gaurentee you will make 10-15whp over what a piggy back setup would make even with MSD. Tuning is all that matters on turbocharged engines, its not just about dumping a lot of fuel in there.

My piston/rod combo was ~$1,200 after shipping. But the new oil pump, head gaskets, seals, ze heads & cams, rod and crank bearings etc etc... it all added up and was somewhere around $2500 for the whole motor. IMO it wasnt worth it because its still a fwd probe that cant get traction beyond 300whp. Do yourself a favor and dont boost your car.

luckily i don;'t want that much whp... if i ever get the money too, ill just do the rx7 motor swap and tranny and convert to RWD somehow...

I have two Mx's

One Mx-6 for my daily use driving with any modification, but i have a Mx-3 GS with BP05 Swap (1.8Dohc). for this car im looking some info. Miata owners have Emanage but they use coils with cam angle sensor, not distributor like me

Emanage its a good option for a quick instalation and no time to wiring, instalation procesure, etc

But my doubt is that, if i can control my timming with my stock distributor. if i cant, i will use microtech.

Megasquirt all the way baby, I have used MS on everything from my old turbo Saturn, to my friends BMW M3 it has stepped to the plate every time, performing like a dream. hell it’s so good I even installed it on my friends 93 ford escort, for better fuel mileage. if you need any help finding a kit let me know, if I have any free time I will make a few more kits up and sell them cheap. For those of you that don’t know me yet, I'm not far from having computers in cars mastered, at the ripe age of 17 lol, also if any of you Mazda boys are interested, I will see selling my FULL standalone system called Sharmanatrix in a few months, this will be just as functional as TEC 3 but with a price tag of $500CAD, right now im on stage 2 and its been deployed 3 cars for vigorous testing. At the time I am not going to answer a whack of questions but ill cover the basics, it has a 67mhz chip, uses 100% assembler code, and the resolution tables for tuning are 5 times larger than mega squirt, plug and play support with my wideband kit, and EGT.
