Holy run-on sentence. MX6.com has been around for most of the startup of the internet. There have been thread upon thread upon information upon information that you can easily read yourself if you just spend the time and quit being lazy. It has nothing to do with sucking searching and has everything to do with just wanting something for nothing. That my friend is not what this site is about. get to reading.
yea, you need to search, suck or not, try it!

secondly, how much money you have?
under 1000, don't even bother thinking about custom anything!

and, lastly, WHY??? why do you want it done? there has been a couple people on here, putting down OVER 300whp, on a stock engine.

if your in need of a rebuild, just rebuild it, plain and simple.
Money could be spent elsewhere, where it would be needed more, like for a wideband, fuel upgrades, etc.

To be honest i have been researching outside of mx6.com. I just need to know what would be better should I just go with a stock block or upgrade that was the basis of my question. I want better pistons then stock but i need to know if it would be a waste of time and money if i went with them now and so far 6 out of the 10 people I have gotten a hold of just in the past 2 hours have confirmed what I have been thinking to start at the fuel system. I just figured since I had it apart to begin with I was going to do it but either way I am going to get new pistons weither they are stock or not. I wanted to know if I should just upgrade while its open. I bought a 89 mx6gt I know of nothing with the history the guy I bought it from seemed to know less then me but a $250 it was a steal. He said that supposedly the guy who had it before me did a engine swap. However the condition its in i highly doubt he was telling the truth. I just wanted other opnions but since everyone on here would rather waste time telling me to research it like I have been doing then actually make a prodctive statement or actually helping me with my question. I guess I turned to the wrong place for help. Thanks Anyways

But the thing is Joey, all of the information you requested has been regurgitated over and over and over again. There are countless threads about rebuilding, parts to obtain, etc. There are 741 threads that contain the words engine, rebuild, or both. Like Sick said, do some research.

You still haven't answered what your plans were. I'm assuming stock, or you just want something for your "mod list". Stick with stock. If you're aiming for more than 250-300whp, you're on the wrong engine platform.
Granted I over looked the fact that I over looked the "ENGINE REBUIL FAQ" Would it of been so hard to just say check out the engine rebuild thread that could help you in your search instead of trying to make it see like I'm am just lazy and what was it "want something for nothing". Isnt a forum where you come for help and when everyone on here just gets pissed because I didnt look through the couple thousand post in the 1st gen section alone.
And to add, learn what [fizzle]ing sentences and punctuation are. You'll find typing like a 3rd grade idito will get you nowhere here. Its not like its hard; you dont talk in run-on sentences like that in real-life...

First: Don't start a sentence with "AND"
Second: It's "Learn what a fucking sentence and punctuationS are".
Third: You'll find when your typing like a third grade IDIOT will get You
Nowhere here.
Fourth: If your to dumb to know where you need to breathe Because I didn't
put a period where one was due you might want to get that
checked.
Thats just my opnion though.
We done here?

We also have this great feature here, it's called the ignore button. I highly recommend its use. :)
In your first post you say you want performance pistons, and you can obtain them... just look for info on forged pistons, there are lots of threads about them. As for valves, there aren't any 'performance' options unless you spend a lot of money and get some stainless steel ones custom-fit. Gaskets are easy... and again, they've been covered a lot. Just search for 'head gaskets' and you'll get lots of answers and recommendations.

If you have a solid-running motor though, a rebuild isn't really needed since you can do a lot with the stock setup. You should only plan a rebuild if you have at least $2000 handy and/or plan to go for maximum horsepower.

Thank you ragnarock see thats the kind of help and options I was looking for I didnt think there were performance valves I am just gonna have my head rebuilt or even go for a remanufactured one. I wanted to know if I should go for forged pistons or just a plain stock rebuild. However if i do go for a basic rebuild and get the head ported and polished how big of a difference would it makeas compared to get a remanufactured head. I want a rebuild because the odometer has 215xxx miles on it so I dont know where the vin number on the block is to tell if it is still the regular engine that was in there? so I figured I should just rebuild it to be safe.

look above at my response earlier
One last thing I apolizge for making any one repeat them self. Next time I will just ask if there is already a thread and where to find it. Rather then start a new one about a topic that has already been covered.
You'd make a decent politician

Look, if you're not going to be doing anything outlandish, stick with a stock rebuild (if you even need to touch the bottom end). A port/polish on these heads will help tremendously. But if you're going for numbers above 300whp reliably, the F2T isn't for you :)
I Honestly don't know where I'm headed at this point just want a car that I will love. I want more power then my lx but not so much i will be to scared to drive it. I have Always been a a firm believer in "GO BIG OR GO HOME" so I'm going to do this I want to do it right. All my family and friends tell me I'm an idiot for wanting to put money in a 20 year old car they say it point less and a waste of time and money I want to prove them wrong.
so you don't have a GT? If you don't, scrap your LX and pick up a GT

The LX wouldn't be worth it.
I agree with Zach to a point. If you want performance it can be difficult to get it out of a non-turbo car, but if you are interested in putting a turbo on your car in the future it can be done. There's a really good sticky here: http://www.mx6.com/forums/1g-mx6-forced-induction/136300-i-want-turbocharge-my-engine-i-have-dx-lx.html
It has links to other threads and general info on what you need to do to make it happen.

If you don't have a turbo or don't plan to add one in the future, I don't know how much porting the head will help, but I don't see any reason not to at least rebuild the engine and give it a new lease on life. Just be careful to consider how much you want to spend, since rebuilds and parts can add up fast.

If you DO have a GT car, porting the head definitely helps. Another thing you should consider is since it's an older car a lot of parts are probably worn out. New suspension, new brakes/brake fluid, busings, tie-rod ends, etc, should also be on the list. By then you'll have spent a fair amount of money, but you'll have a great car that'll treat you right.

I have a 1988 mazda mx6 lx and I bought a 1989 mx6 gt. My lx is broken either a warped clinder head or a blown head gasket havent figured it out.As for the gt needs a new turbo according to RbluEMx6 hes from san antonio as well and he checked it out and told me thats what was wrong. Now I am currently talking to some one here about a t bird turbo for that one.
Sounds like you have all the ingredients to make it work out. I would rebuild the GT engine and put it into whichever body is in the best shape. And yeah, I def recommend porting the head if you can afford it
