edit: how do you have cooling routed? it looks like its coming out the front, which could lead to hot spots in the rear of the engine

its no different to having in out the other end......same same, it makes 260-270hp at the wheels.
also has injectors in the air box now. yager performance can make an engine and send it anywhere.
can also do you a who package "lownslow"
cant wait to post the building of my car, :) so glad i found this thread.

Yeah thats choice as man.

Ongoing projects threads are good then you can recieve feedback as you go :D.

Love how clean this engine bay is! I think i will try achieve sililar which may be hard as i have to fit a turbo and all they other bits in there also.

What gearbox are you using?

Break settup?

Iv fitted capri struts with vented disk and going to use austin princess 4 pots with a spacer kit and make the struts coil over adjustables. Not the lightest calipers but they work well. would like to run a booster but not sure were im going to fit that.

On that topic were do you take you vacume from on a turbo motor for your brake booster?

Wonder what i could do to beef up the front end on corners. Good shocks i guess and double sway bar?

Iv just done heaps of development on my daily driver escorts handling and the differance is amazing car loves corners now and you can get her completly sideways with full control.
All new nolathanes.
Much lower profile/streatched tyres.
Koni adjustables in the rear.
Much bigger swaybay on the front.
Shortaned the front shocks with new springs.
and a 3.6 diff to match the new wheel size.

And its like a new car ... so now iv realised the difference that can be made i want to get this cars handling right the 1st time.

What linkages are you running at the rear end? keen to stay away from 5 linking. So what would you recomend? 3 /4 link?

Cheers

Don't propagate lies!! This is known to not be true and never has been true. It's not true when the correct headgasket is used and has been an issue on ALL rwd mazda 4 pots since christ knows when. Again, a well known fact that plumbing it wrongly can screw you and that even with it plumbed correctly for the headgasket involved the front front setup is very sub optimal.

mazdas work right fwd. toyota and bmw at least get it right no matter what, but not mazda.

we recently did a whole package for 20k, engine, box, diff, drive sharft, rear springs.

we get good koni shocks and weld a sleve over it and make our own adjustable strut tops. then get some king springs.
just using the gear box you are using.
havnt had any problems with them. other then braking the selecter sharft from brutle use in racing.
can also get a dog box made up, which is what we use in the race cars.
Breaks, use us brake on the front with willwood single spot on the rear.

Wheels N Diff

Very upset, cant run the 13"x7" wheels.
dont want to go to the hassle of choping up a diff so i have to get wheels made.
need a fwd type with a gay offset.
also means i may not be able to use superlites.
Im stressing a little, im starting work on the car on monday night, have 12 days to totally complete it, engine, box, tunnel, diff, brakes, suspension, wheels, fuel tank, gaurds, not to mension the wireing and tunning of the motor, and getting the motor built ARHHHHHHHHHH
how is your diff coming along lownslow

WOW! thats the most insane challenge iv heard in a while! or though at the moment I'm re shelling a mates written off show car mk2 cortina with a six week deadline for his weeding and the shell is a rust bucket.
My time line for this project is one year. Mostly financial restriction and i want to take my time and enjoy the build.

With the 13x7's i run a 3.5 diff and its mint! However thats with a pinto motor that is more torque than revs. If your engine is going to be a screamer you may want the smaller wheels? they clear most 4 pot calipers.

What is your stud pattern now? you could re stud your hubs to 114 x 4 or similar common OS RWD pattern.

Have not touched the diff will shorten it last once i have mags and the arches fitted which is a while away as im custom making some 3 piece mesh wheels to get some sweet dish.
