Exhaust system for MX6?

529 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Chuck
I've just bought a 1993 GT MX6 and i'm looking to get an exhaust system fitted but im struggling to find anything?

I wondered if anyone had any recommendations for an exhaust system or knows one that is typically for something else but fits the MX6?

Any feedback at all would be great! Would love to hear how anyone else has modified their MX6 as well as i have some big plans for this car!

Thanks in advance :)

Welcome. with this age of a car, finding anything like a greddy, brullen, obx etc is going to be tough. Best to see what the local shops have or ebay. Ford Probe fits the same time. You can start with that.

Thank you! I thought that the ford probe would likely fit this, i'll email a few companies and see if i can get something custom or fitted! thanks for your reply!
It would be helpful if you update us on what you got and where it came from.

I've just gone through a custom after market exhaust garage. They're making a custom fit one which for the MX6 in the UK it's impossible to buy exhaust parts for, so i felt like this was my best bet. It's costing me £1.5k though o_O

I think the best way to go is to get a universal muffler from a renowned brand and custom piping. I'd take it one step further and source out shops that can provide mandrel bending. The machinery is more affordable than back in the day. This setup could be even better and affordable than a previous full exhaust system. For example, I paid $600 for a Greddy SP1 that was made only for the Probe GT and the piping is 2.25" not stainless steel. Our cars are longer so the muffler tip is not flush with the bumper. HKS had a system but that was short lived and I never saw anyone state side with it. I wish I would've picked up the Greddy Evo that was made for the MX6.

Good luck and make sure to post up pics of your setup.
