Hi guys, I've been looking around at getting a new set of rims for my '94 and was hoping someone had the max width specs for a set of 17's, front and back. Thanks.

Have 225/40R18 and no probs what so ever... might be able to squeeze on 235's... dunno

I have 235/40-17. They don't scrub on anything, BUT, I'm hoping you are aware about fact that the more width you have in your tires, the bigger restriction they are. For example, I have 185/60/15 winter tires and I can notice a big difference in performance (acceleration) with these tyres. Though they are bullshite when it comes to cornering, but I just wanted you to think about this too. I'm saying that it is possible to put 235 tires on 17" wheels, maybe even 245, depending on the off set of your rims... Just think about what it makes to your acceleration too.

Bigger tires makes your car accelerate slower.

I tried some stock Probe-rims with 225/50-16 on my MX6,
and with 4 people in the car I had "situations" where the
tires scrubbed. Maybe the offset differs?

Anyway, 225 was annoying. The car crawled all over.
Looked very cool though.

Settling for 205/50-16.
