This is approved by Goatcrapp,

So I was talking to Mike from RRE about making more FSTB for us, and he said he can if he has a car to work with and minimum of 3 orders. Price would be $160 unpainted bare steel. If anyone is interested please let me know, I'm still working out more details with him, maybe a possible of front and rear bar combo and some powdercoating service, or better yet a discount with more order ;)

For those who doesn't know about RRE bars, they are one of the best strut bar combo ever made. Front bar works with ZE IM and has no hood clearance issue, rear bar is adjustable and similar to PRD bar. Again this is just a feeler, nothing is set in stone yet, so let see how many people are interested and we'll go from there.

Interest so far...

1. ZE Power MX6
2. Chuck
3. dabckid
4. A Simple MX6
5. Stevoh (Depend on design)

Onto the pictures.

UPDATE

Ok I've gone through many emails with Mike. The decision is o go with the 2 bolt mount system, which is more than enough and will withstand what we throw at it ,lap after lap.

I have every confidence in Mike and RRE, for those that don't know RRE and their work, well you had better do your research. This is what they have been doing for many years. They know their stuff, from r&d, they know what works and what doesn't. More importantly they know why and why not a certain design will/will not work.

If your looking for a Functional bar, THIS IS IT!

So the design that will be used is this one...

Scroll to the STB, RRE made that one.

ZE POWER MX6, post this info on MX-6.

Here are a couple more pics of a RRE bar. This design seems to be different than most of the other RRE bars out there. I bought it off someone local so I do not know the history of the bar.

Though the passenger side does not have a connection bar/cross bar welded to it . This allows some flex for discrepencies amongst cars I would assume. I would recommend adding a connection to that side though if you are going to use this design.

Hope this helps.

To much money and I would want a four point mount on each side.

I agree with the last statement. ZE Power MX6, see if the guys at RRE can make a true mounting plate that has holes for all 4 studs. The setup I have and the other bar pictured has a single point set up to 2 of the 4 bolts and is not as effective as a plate style mount.
i want a FSTB but I do agree with lambera in I want a 4 bolt mount. also cheaper the better of course
I believe the price is around the same as when they used to make it, IMO it's a decent price for a high quality bar.

Lambera: This will be a custom made bar, so I'll try to ask them to make it with a 4 point plate, shouldn't be too hard for them to do.

King: Thanks for the heads up, I'm aware of that, that's why we need a test car for them to build one, but since I can't find a picture of them on a MX-6, I thought I would just use a Probe picture cause the result should be very similar, shouldn't have major change in design, probably just a little length differences for fitment.

Guys I'm gonna make a list, so if you are in for sure I'll put you in the list. Meanwhile I will ask Mike about the 4 point mount.
+1 for a MX6
Im also not so much a fan of the round tube style. If it was a boxed design and had the quality of the one below but with a solid mounting system not one that bends then I would be in on that price.

Also a fan of this style, the picture sucks

I went through a strut bar BB last year..

I did a couple in that same design..

IMO, it seemed like it was mainly appearence based design. People wanted it because it looked cool. My last design was something much more simple, and affortable to make.
I only share this, because Ive had numerous messages about making more.. that I dont have the luxury of doing.. perhaps RRE would get in on it..

Big thing I dont like about those current ones, is the pipe around the nut.. just a place to hold water and rust the nuts/studs. faster. Also doesnt grab much of the strut tower surface

+1, I'd like a nice beefy boxed style, with a good plate, not just two mounts.

But, perhaps with at least a plate, I'd be interested. If it'll go down with more buyers, then I'd be in for sure.

Also, what would the price of a powdercoat be? Any rough guesses and/or estimates?

Black powdercoat, beefy boxed bar, with a good plate mount would be awesome, haha.

Then with some stickers.
That's like the Freedom Design FSB, that's not gonna work with the hood to IM clearance we have.

That should be doable, I'll talk to Mike about that. Basically is just a metal plate welded on top of the current RRE bar.
That's right, the person I bought my bar from had an mx6 and it didn't fit. The reason he sold it to me. What kind of difference is there between the Probe and MX6? Wouldn't the strut towers be exactly the same dimensions?

Shit, if you guys get the plate style I want in, but if the mx6 and probe have to have different bars then cannot. Maybe I should just get someone to weld in a plate on my RRE bar.
if it looks like that boxy kind with the 4 bolt mounting plate, i wouldn't mind paying for it :)
I might throw down if it gets the plate.. I second it being powdercoated btw.

They are the same, we Mx6'ers just have less hood clearance.

I bought a front strut tower bar off eBay before(Was cheap, just wanted itfor the looks, haha) and it said it was for the Probe/MX-6. What they forget is that we need it practically to go behind the IM, or it has to be like, flat to go over it.
