I am going to do my cam seals (and most likely water pump) when I do my timing belt in the next few weeks. After doing a timing belt & water pump on my wife's car, and rear valve cover gasket on my MX-6, I feel invincible :)

So, is the cam seal job do-able with the valve covers installed? I sure hope so! I know that my cam seals are leaking, but I have yet to remove the timing cover fully.

I'm armed with a Haynes manual and tools, and probably a week to do the job when the time comes (I've got a spare car).

if youve got the 4, pull the valve cover. youll want to pull the cams to make sure you get a good seal. youll get a great view if the timing belt with the valve cover off too...
