well two weeks ago i was hooking up my system...2 12" infinity kappas with a 200x2 infinity beta amp.....well anyways i hooked up that amp and it wouldnt work...even tried it on my friends system...i called crutchfield and they sent me a new one...(warranty) then with the second one it started working for like 20 mins then the red protection light comes on....i hook that amp up to my cousins system and it started to smoke! i went home called crutchfield and the guy told me i probably have to much load going into it...he told me to wire it differently and try it again in my car...i did and a flame shot out! do you think its just too much load or do you think i have a shortage some where....i think the power wire might be exposed or pinched...please help!

Well, the only thing I can think of is the ground. Did you ground it properly. Try grounding it on the seatbelt bolts - they are exposed under the carpet when you fold down the rear seats.
