About 11. Yeah I know the fs is slow but I can't remember and haven't been able to find out how slow the actual zero to 60 is. Just a little fooling around.

Hopefully soon I get a new exhaust tone video up. But part of me wants to wait until after my head get put on and I install my aero muffler. I mean my car has changed since the last one I made.

The same site which lists the 2.5 v6 at 8.5 secs (0-100 kmh which is 62 mph) lists the 2.0 manual at 10.4 secs 0-100 kmh.
That's on a brand new engine with European quality gas though :)

So with 150k and running regular (american) gas I'm back at stock specs. I was thinking 10.5 but I'm not really concerned with it yet, now if I had done the head and was at stock specs I'd be worried.

Packed the quarter panels full of foam today. The way I see it is it weighs next to nothing and it as free. Function over form. Lol

Also my plugs are ghost white... they are autolite platinum... may have to go back to ngk for the cooler temp ones. Although it maybe from running lean (but I get a backfire when I let off the gas at high rpms ) or from the egr delete and higher chamber temps or just from the vac leaks I had... or the fact that my ditsy was acting up. 1363569946751.jpg

Not entirely done removing emissions stuff but the charcoal canister is gone, along with associated brackets. Taped some of my wiring up to conceal it better. Now I just need to figure oit the egr pipe from the header to manifold and finish taping.

I've been thinking of doing the charcoal removal too.

Did you find adding the foam helped with the rear road noise? If you ever do anything, do the door panels.

If all my road trip plans are intact for June, I will take you out for a spin in mine when we meet up. Justin L was flabbergasted how much quieter my ride was after my sound deadening project.

it did do a decent amount. i cant wait to do the doors. i am thinking of dynamatting those though. I am down. i have a few corners I would like to take you around to show you exactly how this thing handles. it may not be very good in a straight line but it handles like a less torquey go cart. BTW I asked one of my classmates about where you should go when you come to town to find good beer and he pointed me in a few directions. He's from bc so i trust he'd know what we have to offer that they dont up there.

Decided to test drive the car before I posted an update this time....

I found a line coming off of the back of the tb that was not hooked to anything. Patched it inline appropriately. I pulled off the egr pipe and had to cut it. My cap screw on the egr pipe was stripped so that was a pain to get off.

When I was struggling to pull it out I put a hole in a coolant line. Dumped about 2/3 of a gallon of collant trying to replace the hose. Fixed it and had to burp the system 2 times.

I removed the vacuum distribution lines from the top of the manifold and capped the screws on the intake manifold and header with trimmed dimes inside the cap screws and jb welded the header cap screw in since it would only slightly thread and then would get loose

Before all this my idle was still a little low even after adjusting it in diagnostic mode after fixing all of that my car now runs like a dream. Idle holds at 750rpm and doesn't drop to 5/600 when the lobe in the cam drops. Took the car for a good hard drive and I will say it pulls way harder then it did and best part of all most the low end is back that I thought I had lost after doing the cam swap. Videos will be posted tuesday and I will get some pics up of my engine bay when its cleaned then also.

Car ran great over the coast range. Staying in coos bay, oregon for the night and had wanted to take a couple pictures of the car while I was here. I came here to start doing research for my final project for school. Any ways here are a couple pictures.

Painted the intake manifold that I had ported. I have one coat and ran out of paint. So here's an update... gonna buy a set of adjustable cam gears rather then get the head work done for now. And also buy a gasket set may even put this manifold and modified tb on for a quick test.

sending payment ($60 shipped) for these bad boys tomorrow... this should allow me to set the intake cam forward 4* and pick up the extra torque I lost from the cam opening 4* slower. it should also allow me to keep the throttle response.

If the link doesn't show up for reference they are blue adjustable cam gears.

Also I just got back from a local shop that's been tuning in Eugene for 10 years. I was calling around to check prices on welding in my new aero muffler and just decided to ask if he could do a valve job on my head. He said he'd have to look at it.
Long story short he reccommended that I lap my valves but the valve seats look fine and don't need to be done. He showed me a spot or two that I can improve my port work and then we started bs-ing, he also has a dyno. He told me he wouldn't be surprised if it put out 130whp just from the little thing and pulling emissions stuff but we'll see. Anyways no valve job means all I have to do is get my prep work finished and buy a gasket kit. The only question I'd have is arp head studs (since I do plan on boost later) and cometic head gasket or oem?

I also cut off the fins on the inrake manifold since they look a little weird with out the vacuum lines running over the top of the manifold. I have one line running through the center of the im and it looks a little cleaner with just and im visible. For reference here are a few views of the engine bay currently. The black manifold and tb should help clean the bay up even more and be closer the the murdered out look I secretely want. Gloss black engine bay, matte black exterior and 10% tint...
