ok. i have a regular american 4cyl 93 mx6. i am in the process of ordering the j-s[ec intake cam and j-spec pistons. also i was looking at the J-spec FS-ZE intake manifold. with the pistons it says you they may require extra tuning (im assuming that is because they bump the compression ratio to 10.4:1). anyway i was unsure on if to properly install the Jspec intake manifold you have to get a Jspec ECU. do you have to mess the the computer of the car at all? anything with the VRIS (not that i actually know what that is and does) but i have heard that you have to change all that around to install the Jspec manifold. anybody that could clear this up for me please do your help would be grreatly apperciated.
any help on the extra tuning for the pistons and the whole computer (ECU VRIS) situation would be great thanks guys

You do need the ECU to control the VICS (not VRIS) on the 4cyl intake minifold. With out the ECU it won't work. The JDM ECU is extremely rare and if you do come across it, it doesn't match up with our A-spec wiring harness. As for the 10.4:1 compression, the extra tuning is sparkplug gaps and ignition timing and maybe more, oh, and higher octane gas. The cam should be about the only thing that dosn't need tuning. It will just mess with your idle a little.
