Hello,

I know someone who is selling a Mazda MX6, and I think it's an early model (first gen). It has power everything, 5 speed, sun roof, new tires, and new break pads. The only thing is that it has 234,000 miles on it, but he's selling it for 700$. Is that worth it? It's in perfect shape, I guess, but I want it to last about a year or two...how much longer could it go? Thanks for your help!

if it starts right up and runs good it should last a year. i could actually see it running a lot longer than that if it is still running strong. $700 is a decent buy if everything works, paint is good, and motor is solid. shit i would buy it, for a parts car or something.

For $700? I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Even if it only runs a year, I mean, $700 isn't bad.

hell yeah

then in a year if it breaks down you could sell all the parts off of it to all of us! :)

Whatever you do don't beat on it!
Old cars are like old people. The minute you beat on it stuff breaks!

it all depends on how it was looked after, oil changes at wright intervals, regular wheel alignment and balanceing, how it lived its life as a race car or a shopping trolly.
if engine and trany are in good condition, you lucky but dont hand over your money yet, get suspention specialist to look at every component, generally at this milage bushes and other rubber components are in need of change.
but the again its only $700($1600 australin extreemly cheap, mx6's star around 10 000 dollar mark)
