Hey guys, while surfing around I found a cool place that powdercoats pretty cheap. Their website is http://www.tgrperformance.com . They look like they do a good job too. Anyways, for those people looking to dress up their engine compartment more I thought this might help.

Why I did this:

Obviously, this is a referring to the closed post on powercoating. I did this because there is a difference between advertising your own product (Which is not allowed without permission) and advertising a good site that you have found that could help other members out.

If Shannon locks this thread (Which he probably will do anyways), he needs to go on to lock every thread that I've ever posted a link to Go Fast Bits, Pakfeifer, Nopi, anything.

The purpose of this webboard is to discuss and reccomend appearance products. By locking a thread and letting it drift into nothingness people are not going to be able to find what is a great deal on powdercoating.

That doesn't help the community out at all does it?

while i do agree with flyswat partly, the powder coating post was advertising, it wasn't just recomending something from reserch or anything, the member was doing his/her part of the deal for free stuff. There was no review or anything like in other posts on products, it was straight promotion.

lol, thanks fly for startign a new thread..lol. In no way is this an AD. TRGperformance does excellent work. I was very impressed and as son as i can i will put some pictures up. This is such a Nazi site...lol info is never allowed to be shared...;) well i can always not worry about closed threads like that on the SR20 forums..lol Anyways, trg is quick and does awesome work. I got a good deal thanks to tom and like i said if you tell him kasey sent you you will get a discount :) NO AD though, thats just a suggestion, dont take it to heart if you dont want to :)

Yea, i agree. A new thread is needed. They do supperior work and have a great talent. I was very pleased with the job they did and would recommend them to anyone in need of powdercoating. this is not an advertisement.....Dont forget to mention my name(Kasey) if you do go there, but i am not telling anyone to go there, thats your choice of your own free will :)

Well, I do agree its a good post, we'd all like info on reputable powdercoating shops. But your signature said "SPONSOR"... I'll assume a sponsor for your car, ie: you get free work if you get people to have work done there. Then again, maybe not.

Well that doesnt sound like a very good sponsorship, you're a kind individual if you're doing it for free. Just giving you a hard time man. :D
lol i know you are joking man..lol thanks. I do it for free, like spread the word and all. He doesnt ask. But sinc ehe did a good job(and i run his logo on my 6) i will promote him..lol. Small shop doin big time work. Not some huge company that doesnt give a dman about you

I wouldnt be surprised if shannon closed that thread for no other reason than to piss you off. Oh wait, maybe i should have kept my mouth shut. BTW according to the "rules", shannon now has every right to close this thread because it is a public display of your feelings toward a moderator issue. That is supposed to be discussed privately.

IMO this is an interesting topic. I never knew that you could powder coat anything yourself. One of my buddies has a junk oven we were throwing a pressure plate at the other day, might have to look into doing this. thanks for the insight MX6_23 and to the rest of you for bringing up this topic.

let the games.... errr flames... begin.

Shannon and I have resolved our differences through PM...at least I think we have, as he hasn't replied to my last PM yet.

Besides, one moderator (Panther) gave his approval on this.

Dude, you're going too far to start flames. No crap is happening here, well other than what you posted above. I think this tread is civil, so far, so please keep it that way. Thank you very much!
No hard feelings, okay? :)

Too far to start flames? You think that's what I'm trying to do? I never did anything other than tell it how it is.
Like I said, maybe I should have never said anything. Sometimes people get too worked up over juvenile issues. I'm done talking about this matter. IF anyone has something to say then PM me. no hard feelings here, never intended to be either.

So, does anyone know where I can buy powercoat and a gun to do it myself?

I think maybe we have a misunderstanding. What I ment was this, up until your first post, there wasn't any drama in this thread and I didn't see any to come.

I know that comment is sarcastic, but others may not see it that way.

All I know is, powdercoating looks cool. I wish I had the room on my property to set up a 220V outlet and do my own experimentation. Shoot, if one of the guys here started a side business with an oven and a powdercoating kit, I'd bet it at least pay for his own stuff to be done for free plus all the equipment.
I'm sure thats what half the guys on ebay selling valvecovers are doing.

The reason I closed the previous thread was because this is EXACTLY what it said:

"Ok, guys I am just posting to tell you about one of my sponsors. This place is one of the best powder coating facilities around and honestly has the best pricing. Great customer service and a refundable core if you send your old valve cover or whatever was coated. www.trgperformance.com is the site. Tom is the owner and he does really amazing work. If any of you have questions feel free to ask or talk to tom. He also does really great work at polishing and chroming. He powdercoated my valve cover but polished the letters on it They do great work, so If you are in the need for something powdercoated, polished or chromed, drop them a line. If you tell Tom that Kasey sent you, he will most likely give you a better price if thats even possible since his prices are reasonable... "

"My sponsors" is what raised the red flag. Also his signature doesn't help either which I've already asked him to change it.

Yes, I should close this thread. It is a retaliation on me and it is breaking board rules.
