The GT headlights have integrated foglights. The innermost parking light bulb is a fog light instead of a parking light.

I am not so sure on the interchangability. The 88-89 and 90-92 have a different fog light system, and I'm not sure if the bulb connectors are the same on the LX as the GT, so you'll have to take a look for yourself. Since you have a 91, you won't need a fog light relay like the 88-89's have, but you may have to make some wiring changes and you can add the switch in the dash if you want it to be like factory where the foglights can be switched on/off while the headlights are on. If you don't mind them being on whenever the parking lights are on, you could just re-wire a GT connector if they are different.

speaking from personal experience all 1st gen 88-92 headlights are the same shape and fit directly.

the difference is in the reflectors inside for the fog light(gt) and the parking lamp(lx)

do you want to replace your orig's or add a fog light?

GT and LX/DX headlights are NOT the same. You can not simply wire in the fog light into the parking light and plug it in. Believe me, I have gone through this hole ordeal. The previous owner of my car wrecked it and used NA headlights, even though the car is a GT. I took a look at a spare GT headlight I had here and at the NA one and it is not possible. The place for the foglight bulb is different than the parking light. If I still had the GT one out of the car I take a pic comparing the two, but if he wants to upgrade to GT headlights (if he doesn't already have a GT) he will have to go to a junkyard and pull the headlights and the little wiring harness adapter that goes to them. It is just a little 3-4" long adapter that plugs into the factory parking light connector and then plugs into the H3 fog light.
Not trying to sound offensive, I just wanted to put this in a way so people will realize I am serious and not go try anyways and waste their money trying.

Just a question on the "GT" ... I have a 5dr turbo which has a "GT" logo on the side. I thought the 2 door turbos were MX6's and the GT's were the 5 doors? FYI.. my "GT" doesn't have fogs in the headlight assembly .. just pitiful type 67 bulbs on both sides of the headlight bulb... I've tried for awhile to replace the stock 67's with something white to go better with the brite-white halogens I put in without success... Oh well...

Now that's interesting...I was under the impression that the 626 GT came with foglights as well (do you have the switch to the left side of the steering column?). If you have a switch that does nothing, that might indicate your car was wrecked in the front and had the normal DX/LX lights put in.

as for the "GT" buisness, both the mx6 and 626 came in DX, LX, LE, and"GT" trim levels. (check the link in my signature and you will see "GT" written on my fender as well. :D ) "GT" was the premium package that included the 2.2L Turbo and black trim around the windows (in the U.S, at least..)

I was under the same impression as magik8. I though ALL Gt's had the foglights, MX6 and 626 alike. Do what he said and see if you have a switch, if you do go out and look at the lights. Where the parking light bulb goes into the light assembly it will say "parking lamp" or "fog light". Since you already said you just have the pitiful bulbs you obviously have the parking light stamped on there. The connector and bulb are not even close to being compatible between the LX/DX and GT's, the H3 bulb holder is way too big to fit into the NA headlight.

Well, I'm not sure how that worked, maybe the headlights are slightly different between some years, b/c I had one from I don't know what year in my car (I had NA's in my GT) and when I compared the GT one to the NA one I had just taken out it wasn't gonna fit. I even tried and took the parking light out and tried to put in the fog light, holder and all, and I couldn't even get it inside there to lock it down, it was too big.

I had read somewhere that in 1990 all production had been moved to the US with the exception of the hatchbacks which were still built in Japan. Maybe that's why I have different headlights than the other turbo models...
