I find that my car starts up and runs fine when I drive it everyday, but if it sits for a few days, it idles rough at first and has kind of a misfire/sputtering at low rpm until it warms up.

One time I was away for two weeks, and it was reeeeally cranky when I started it. It took forever to start and was idling so bad I had to keep my foot on the gas slightly to keep from stalling.

Does it sound like something simple like plugs or wires or do you think my distributor could be going maybe ?

Sounds like your fuel pressure is slowly leaking down. Double check all of the clamps, etc.

This is a common problem with our cars.

Leaking fuel injectors would do it, but I really doubt the fuel injectors are leaking. You need a pressurized fuel rail for that.
