Alright, I had this F2T hanging around my yard for about.. eh, 5 years that was the left over donor engine from my ATX-MTX swap in my old GT. I'm currently going to school, and brought the motor in so we could do a tear-down, and rebuild for training purposes. I've got an engine stand... and the motor... but no bolts. I have to get this thing on the stand today, as its hanging on the schools cherry picker, and they aren't incredibly happy about it. I obviously no longer have the tranny --> motor bolts.

What I need to know... anyone that has their tranny off right now, or just knows this off the top of their head, or has a shop manual.. anything.... What size bolt bolts the tranny to the motor, and effectively.. bolts the engine stand to the motor? I don't need length.. just size & pitch.

We've got it narrowed down, and we're pretty sure its a 14mm x 1.50 pitch for the top 2 bolts, and the bottom we're just gonna rock a couple bolts with nuts, so it doesn't matter what those are.

I need this before 11am EST TODAY!! Please, anyone, help me out. I know I've become a bit scarce (and most of you probably have no idea who i am... but I've owned 3 GTs, an LS, and a PGT in the past 5ish years.) Help a brotha out!

THANKS IN ADVANCE. Really, you're saving my life.

Ok, here's what you do. Go to home depot. find a mexican named Juan. From what I heard someone basically gave him a sweet GT about 5 years ago. He will definitely be able to get you the hookup on the right bolts.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I hate you, but that was frigging awesome. Noone else will get it, but oh man. That was perfection right there. PERFECTION.

But yea, I still need help, in a bad bad way.
i don't have my mx6 near me, but i do believe they were 14mm something.
Oh, I might want to be a little more specific. I'm looking for the size and pitch of the THREAD of the bolt. I'm not looking for the size of the wrench or socket you used to take it off.

Thanks compnut, you've got me thinking I might be right about the 14mm size.
since u tearin down the motor, try the head bolts n see if they would not sork(not sure they will), get some nuts n bolts

It needs to be on the stand before the tear-down. Thats the problem. I'm not looking for random bolts that might fit after hours of trail and error.. I need a specific thread pattern that I can go buy before I get to school today.

Thanks though!
As I recall the engine stand actually bolts to the side of the engine, not where the transaxle is... and it uses the bolts with the engine stand. See page 25 here.... http://www.souaidia.com/WSMMX61992/ManualChapters/ChapterB.pdf
Thats awfully strange. But, I still plan on bolting it to the block where the transaxle would be. I don't have any bolts that came with the engine stand.. It's just a peice of crap from the local crap-store. Certainly not anything Mazda created (as i'm imagining that thing in the PDF is, considering its being considered an SST.) So, i'm still in need of the bolt size.... I need it by 11:45ish. It;s currently 10:54. ANYONE?!

Thanks a lot chrmar for the PDF tho, that will definitely help me later on in the tear-down!
M12x1.25 I believe is what they are.

No dice bro. They were indeed M14x1.50.
Really? that's a big effin bolt.
Yeah, those bolts are rather large. I have about 50,000 of them in a big box O' MX6 bolts.

Yea man, I was surprised too.

try through bolts and nuts
Only on the bottom. The top half doesn't go through the mounting points. The bolt holes have bottoms. On the bottom of the block, you can just use the mounting 'wings' which you can throw a bolt through and rock a nut on the other side.
