When i accelerate i hear this 'hissing' type noise from my engine that echoes a little bit, its not really loud but its bugging me...it sounds like an exhuast leak but i just had my exhuast fixed...could it be the resonator? or thats what i think its called...its that wicker basket looking thing under the engine, it looks pretty old.

It could be the flex pipe. I had one break on my old mx-6. Made 1 hell of a racket. they're not expensive though. I think about $60 for the whole pipe going from the manifold to the cat. The only way to tell for sure is to run the engine and then stick your head under the car and listen and feel for leaks. Just be careful you dont burn yourself.

Might be broken studs on the exhaust manifold.

Well i just had a new exhuast put on, so wouldn't that rule out a leak at the manifold?

I would imagine your exhaust was only from the catalytic converter and back, so probably not.
