I am having problems installing my DEH-P3300 into my winter Bronco. After install it didnt work. I thought maybe it was the HU. I then hooked the HU to the battery of the truck and nothing! I found that if I hook both the ACC and BATT wires together and try it on the truck battery it works????!!! any ideas?
The fuse in the deck is not blown.

Thanks!

The ACC, and the BATT wires Both have to see 12V+ in order to come on, thats why it works that way ...

The Batt. one is wired to a constant 12V (this line stays hot even when the ignition is off), the ACC is wired to switched 12V (only active when the car is on) and grnd of course is grounded ...

You should buy a ford harness adaptor if you havnt cut the factory plug off yet, if so then you will have to meter to find the wires by them selves, start by turning the vehicle off, meter to find 12v, then turn it on, and meter to find 12v again (but on a different wire than the one you found with it off) and there will be your two wires .... easy isnt it!!!

Yeah, I have measured them, I dont think my ACC wire is working. Shouldnt the deck work (only for testing) by tying both the BATT and ACC on the deck to the always live 12V wire? Also if I want to run a new ACC wire, should I wire to like the RADIO or WIPER fuse maybe?

OOPS

After some more testing, it seems like the ACC is fine, but the orange (BATT) wire isnt. I guess I can just run a new wire from the batter of the truck. Is there an easier way?

Thanks
