Just wanting to see some ram air setups so maybe it will inspire me to make one. I was thinking of maybe putting a hoodscoop on my car and if im doing that I should probably put it to work but what about water? It rains a good amount around here and I wouldnt want to be messing up my car.

Thanks,
Pnut

well i dont have a pic cuz i dont have a good camera or scanner but i can describe it to you. i had this on before i built my current cold air one. it was just a 3" piece of pvc pipe that i attached a k&n cone filter too. i sanded down the pipe and painted it flat black. i took the little nipple off the back of the air box and cut a hole in the original elbow behind the vaf and glued the nipple into the hole. then i glued the filter to the pvc pipe using a pvc concrete and when it was dry i just slipped it over the vaf. it fit like it was made for it. i did it that way cuz we get a ton of rain here and didnt want to suck up water. but i went out a made a cai out of stainless steel that works good too. the ram air worked fine, it was noticably louder and had a lil better throttle response. im sure it didnt give me great power gains but maybe a little. and i did get better gas mileage. i can get a camera and put it back on and take a pic if you want me too. pm me if you want too. im sure other people have done this same thing.

I had no idea what the heck you did to that intake but it sounds disgustingly complex.

I'm not even sure you did a ram air intake. Anyways, only seen one "ram air" system before and it was a probe. The battery was moved to the trunk and the right headlight was replaced with a Naca duct. The air box was built around the original headlight and kept air tight. After that the tubing is fed into the VAF.

The only way for a ram air setup is to cut a whole in the hood and do some serious air box modding. Most of that work is completely worthless though, Unless you got a built KLZE with crazy work done to it a ram air won't do jack. Just a nice CAI feeding from the bottom of the engine bay will do fine.
