Hey I also did this swap last summer. I did a complete write up on PT.

An auto PGT ECU will controll a MTX, it will just flash the O/D light so you can just remove the light.

Also the 2.0 tranny will work with the 2.5. It just wont bolt up. they are both G25-R transmissions as are the trannys in ford escorts, just different bell housings. I have a MX3 tranny (same as probe GT) but have removed the stock 7.795 5th gear and replaced it with the 7.717 5th out from a 2.0 tranny. If you know what you are doing you can swap and of the gears. 1st and 2nd are the same in both. 3rd and up are different. Here are a few posts, the first is mine the 2nd is info from Kevin

A mod from Probe Talk has, go there and do a search, his name is FRCFD6, hes a mod for the F/I forum. PM him or search for his posts.

so if you do this v6 swap can you use all your original accessories like AC comp, alternator, and PS pump... what about the radiator too?
oh and if any one has a good deal on a ZE tell me know

i know that you have to get a new clutch, but will the stock i4 tranny work with the possible ZE motor?

Nope, the alternator, PS pump, and A/C compressor are all different on the GT. The SE radiator wont fit the GT cuase the inlet and outlet ports are in the wrong places. If you do the swap, its a complete swap of everything from the firewall forward. Of course including the ECU harness under the dash and the ECU.

I have the 2.0 with an ATX and it sucks balls cos it's saloooooooooooooooooow!!! My plan is to keep the current 2.0 with the ATX and purchase another MX6 but this time I'm going to grab an LS MTX.

i know this is an old post but i thought i would still post my question here. Will the Probe GT's guage cluster fit into my mx6? I have a probe GT manual donor car, and was wondering if the tack and everything would fit, or if i'm stuck with my tack. Next question. assuming it won't fit, which i'm not holding my breath on. How much modification would be required for it to fit?

Too much modification. The design of the dash is far different.

thanks, i'll just stick with my I4 and modify that then. once again thanks for the quick reply. anyway, 30-35 mpg is worth it all day long. lol:jump:

ok i know this is an old thread but since it applies to the 94 i4 swap to klze or kl03 then id like to know iz it eazier to do it when both engines and trannies are mtx and is the ze tranny better or the same and also i read here the ac ps and radiator wont work right ok also i know the compression of the ze is higher therefore the 03 is a litlle better to turbo right? if u can please either pm me and or numerate the answers it would be very kind of you also when i do the swap ill also take some pix step by step

I'd love to get that with my I4. I have never seen 30mpg since i've owned my car. I only get like 24mpg always.

I know this is an old post but I have a question about the I4 suspension The V6 has more weight so do I need to change out my front suspension from the donor car? I would love to hear no it will be fine as the donor car I just got had the passenger side smashed in a bit and the suspension on that side is no longer usable. Another thing would be the cluster that is in the car now being that it is set up for the I4 changing it with the one in the V6 is that something that must be done in order to get the right readings or would it be fine just to leave the one I have in the car? I am taking it out to do a few mods to it like new white face plates ans a new brushed Bezel. Thanks for all your help.

would the 626EX LX millinia L work for this? I can't find a LS anywhere in NC with this so im curious if those would work.

Still curious if i can get a response, would the Millinia work or the 626 V6 work for this car? I know a few other cars in this time frame have a v6 with a 2.5.
