So, I'm doing some maintenance work on my girlfriends mx-6. (95, I4) and she has the same idle problem as everyone else. I start with the IAC valve, take the hose off and hear a draining sound when I do. So I go get my air hose and blow some air through the hose that came off the IAC. Well, coolant shoots through the IAC. Since i'm not too familiar with the routing of the IAC, where is this coming from? IT seems that the coolant is clean so i'm not completely sure about a blown head gasket, and I don't have my Haynes manual handy right now to check out the routing.

Sounds like I have a serious problem.

Please help,

THanks,
THe noob, DSM

ok, i've kinda figured out that it is supposed to do this, but i'm seeing a little coolant in the oil, and i was wondering if the IAC could be spitting coolant into the TB.

Edit, I dont' think it's a blown head gasket cuz there is no smoke and the coolant looks clean.

hrm.

Ok, I have a broken spring in the IAC. Anyone know where I can get a new IAC?

Or a complete throttle body+IAC?
