Apparently my car needs a new coil and igniter. My car will warm up then stall and not start again, does that sound right? So i got a quote from Mazda of $500CAN ($300ish US) does anyone know anywhere else I could get it (ie - NAPA) or if a scraped one would be salvagable. Does a 626, MX5, etc. fit/work in our car? What about performance options, is there such a thing?
Please help!?!?
Thanks.

Hey that sucks, the same thing happened to my car last month, except i got stuck on the highway. I was told that I need to replace the ignitor and coil, instead I ended up replacing the entire distributor, cap and rotor, the cost of parts was $650.00 Canadian, so i figured I would get the entire unit for 150.00 dollors more, it seemed like a better deal, because I got a complete new distributor and cap/rotor, BTW the cap/rotor was about $60.00 by it self.
If your in Toronto try called A-SPEC.

My 93 MX6 V6. I found this problem for 2 months already. It totally down yesterday. I gonna spend 380+- to replace the ignitor. I got two website u can refer to. http://www.bradbury.cwc.net/probemx/index.htm
http://home.golden.net/~trinity/dist/dist.htm
There show that's the transistor of ignitor got problem for 93 and 94 MX6 V6 and Probe. After that, mazda had redesigned the transistor. I'm wondering why Mazda didn't have a recall?? It will stall anytime, it is too dangerous during a high speed or in traffic!! U can imagine!!
