Just wanted to let you guys know that you should be able to get NGK Iridium IX spark plugs from O'reilly's auto parts for about $6 a piece. Now, is anyone already running these plugs and if so...what kind of gap are you using with what combination of mods.

Dude, I work at a car dealership all day ordering parts for the parts service department. I'm pretty sure that I know if a part is real or not. Also, in case YOU didn't know...late model LS-1 Camaro Z28's. The oem replacemet spark plug is now an AC Delco Iridium plug. I found this out the other day when I called a Chevy parts department looking for tune-up parts for a car that was in the shop. Anyway, the number changed over about three times from 2 platinum plug numbers and finally landed on an Iridium plug number. And these plugs were only $5.29 a piece.

Also http://www.cyberauto.com sells Denso Iridium spark plugs for our car for $6.40 a piece so why couldn't they be that inexpensive?

if they are that price, they arent Iridium
If you don't believe me, i'll take a picture of them with the receipt right next to them so you can see. Or better yet, ask your local o'reilly's if they can search NGK part number 6441 in the Iridium IX line for you, then you can see and hear for yourself!

No joke! Maybe I need to get a re-sellers license and sell them for 50cent a piece profit. Hmmmm...
Have you tried O-Reilly's though?
And if you really can't find them anywhere and you want them maybe we can work something out. Worst case, check out www.cyberauto.com They have the Denso iridium's for $6.40 a piece.

I got the NGK Iriduim IX spark plugs, it came out to $33 for all 4. Work great! The car was a lot more responsive when I put the NGK Iriduims and Magnecore wires on, definite difference!

I have been thinking about iridium spark plugs for a while, the main benfit that I can see from them is that the resistance for the spark to arc over is WAAAAY less than a conventional spark plug. They seem to help prevent normal misfires and work a lot better under the cylinder stress that our turbos put out. In a supercharged ford expedition at 9 psi there was a gain of almost 30 horses compared to stock oem plugs. That is what you a re buying when you get iridiums. They don't make horsepower they make your ignition far more efficient and help harness the horsepower that you lose due to the lack of efficiency of stock plugs and ignition systems. No matter the price they are one of the best things you can buy for a forced induction vehicle.

I installed them in Sept.2002. I was very(extremely) happy with the idle and acceleration improvements. Now one thing I haven't done as yet is to take them off/out and have a look at them, but will probably look after winter(maybe in May) but I think so far they have been worth every penny.
