found an interesting post. & after spending over an hour through the search function here & on PT i can't find anymore correlating information on the subject.

Thats interesting I'm looking to use K8 heads on my N/A build.

The ports look the same and have the same dimentions at the opening as the DE. The HLA's are the same too but the cams have 1mm extra lift than the DE cams.
does anyone out there have more information about this??
does anyone have duration specs on the K8 cams?

LOL, you probably read that in the KL Redline thread?

I don't know, I'm trying to find out myself. Probably suited for higher RPM though, from the sounds of the MX-3's power figures.

KL31 == ZE CAMS

1.375" base circle, 1.720" max height ==some specs on the cam lobes

0.350" Lift ==how much the cam pushes the valve open

200° @ 0.050" --- 246° @ 0.004" --- 84° @ 0.300". ==durations

KL01

1.365" base circle, 1.705" max height

0 .338" Lift

196° @ 0.050" --- 244° @ 0.004 --- 67° @ 0.300"

IO at 8 BTDC ==Intake Open 8 degrees Before Top Dead Center
IC at 47 ABDC ==Intake Close 47 degrees After Bottom Dead Center
EO at 50 BBDC ==Exhaust Open 50 degress Before Bottom Dead Center
EC at 5 ATDC ==Exhaust Close 5 degrees After Top Dead Center

KF01 ==KFZE 2.0L JDM

1.368" base circle, 1.666" max height

0.298" Lift
these were the only specs listed

K8

1.680" max height (intake), 1.713" max height (exhaust)

IO at 6 BTDC
IC at 37 ABDC
EO at 49 BBDC
EC at 6 ATDC

so essentially the exhaust cam on the K8 has no duration increase but a mild .08" increase in height.

Why are the ZE cams larger basecircle then DE cams?
