Errr everything? The highest #'s I can recall seeing were 800+ HP in a twin turbo australian GT touring car.
That is a VERY relative question. Any motor will make any amount of HP with money and time.

If you want to go with the naturally aspirated engine (no turbo/supercharger) a KLZE (The JDM motor) swap will give you 200hp at the crank. The ZE has different heads, a better flowing intake manifold, 200 degree cams (stock de is 198), and 10:1 pistons (de is 9.2:1). These motors respond pretty well to bolt on mods such as exhaust systems, headers, and cold air intakes. I've seen people almost make 200whp with a bolt on KLZE.

If you stick with the DE, you can also make pretty decent power. I would think that a well running KLDE with an intake, headers, high flow catalytic converter, and a decent exhaust system would be making in the neighborhood of 150-160hp at the wheels. If you take into account that the mx6 only weighs 2600 pounds, you've got a pretty fast little car.

The KLDE motor has the potential to make about 300whp using stock internals (pistons and rods) when using a turbo setup, a supercharger, or nitrous. After 300whp, the gearbox tends to break and your stock rods and pistons won't hold up for very long. There are a lot of members on these forums with turbo cars and every person does it differently. There are no bolt on turbo "kits" for the mx6 unless you buy someone's old kit.

If you have any other questions, please use the search feature in the top right corner of the webpage or shoot me a PM. If you can think of it, it's probably been done to an mx6.

i'm going to turbocharge my 2nd gen early next year. About how much boost can a ZE handle with stock internals and tranny?
To answer your thread title, yes it does make hp. Proof is that it moves :).

8psi on ze. More then enough to burn street tyres.

True. My DE with just a cotton drop in filter and a dumped ( broken) exhaust recorded 163 WHP on a mustang dyno.

And your right about the bolt on's too. The car has a bad rap for not responding to bolt on mods as well as other cars. You allways hear shit like "I just bolted on a new exhaust and only got 5 extra WHP but every other car out there gets atleast 20"

Dont buy in to this. The MX-6 is right in line with similar cars unless the car in question came with a crappy or missmatched exhaust or intake like most hondas.

I wasnt sure if that was a question or a statement lol.
