Until I can locate the proper manifold, I have been using the stock KLD IM on the ZE engine and have been fighting vacuum leaks (due to the different port sizes?).

Has anybody had luck with any particular method of sealing? I have tried silicone (2x) and most recently cut my own gasket to match the ZE "O.D." and the KLD "I.D." - still no luck.

I will disassemble again tonight and check the vacuum chambers as well, but leak is confirmed around IM flange using carb cleaner when engine is running.

Thanks for the idea, but aren't the Pheno spacers designed to work on the US Spec engine and therefore be designed with the smaller oval port?

That raises another question off-topic...has anyone used the Pheno spacers with a proper KLZE setup???

You unusually get the spacers to suit your motor IE they make different ones..
I have a KLZE with phenos on it..
Get some good quality silicone if it is temporary or get some Mazda gaskets if more permanent.. but unless there is some sort of warp or chip either should seal up as the surfaces are flat and the ze , inlets are not any wider than the out side diameter of the LDs manifold..

I had a 03 IM on my ZE for a bit. Regular KL03 gaskets did the trick for me. The car did run like crap though. The ZE IM made such a big difference.
