Not sure about timing but VRIS is as follows:

KLDE IM- VRIS #1 - 3250, VRIS #2 4250, Both close at 6250
Straight Neck ZE IM- VRIS #1 - 4000, VRIS #2 4850, Both close at 6750

Also, I would say that the ZE heads would be better for porting and better power gains because they have rectangular runners to match the ZE manifold.

so if you were adjusting your VRIS points for the best performance where should they open at? like the 1st at 3500rpm and so on... Also with the KLZE heads what would have to be improved to allow it to rev higher? i know the valve retainers have to be improved. and what does a high reving KLZE get up to, like 9000rpm?

You would have to play with the opening of the VRIS on a dyno. You will be able to see where power changes and make adjustments to the rpm that VRIS opens as necessary.

I am not sure how much porting you can do on ZE heads but there might be someone else who can tell you.

If you are going to do a high revving KL motor I would recommend some very aggressive cams for top end power. 210 or higher will give you a nice strong powerband above 6k rpm.
