whenever i take a turn i hear this knock ...its just one knock and its only when i turn...what could it be..is it major?

Have your ball joints checked out.

I would think ball joints, strut mount/bearing, or steering rack (tie rod) could be possible sources of the noise.

i'm currently having something like that replaced. I would look at the ball joints, but i just had to have my strut plate and my cv joint replaced.
