Anyone know what the light laws are here in Texas?

Are angel eyes legal?

Neons?

Red/Blue lights?

Just wondering.

From what I was told from my cop friend - any neon lights on the outside of your car are illegal.
They are only legal if they are inside your car and considered 'not distracting' for other drivers.
Amber, White and Red are the only colors you can put in your lights - the basics.
I already got pulled over for having blue lights in my front blinkers - I was told it was for 'show car' purpose only.

Angel eyes should be okay though... I'm not sure about the legalities of Xenon type lights.... I think if it's a certain intensity then it's illegal.

Angel eyes in general are legal... but not the ones sold on here though actually, they aren't DOT certified.

Neons are legal on the inside as long as they aren't distracting like mulder said. They are legal everywhere offroad (show). But underglows and such are illegal.

Blue and red you are more likely to get **** for. You can get a ticket for impersonating an officer.

On the outside of the car, it has to be stock lights. No devil eyes, no clear side markers or turn signals. (the housing can be clear, just not the lights). Sidemarkers must be amber/yellow/red lights.

Tail lights legally can't be dark tinted, nor headlights.

So many laws, but as long as you don't look ricey doin it, you most likely wont get pulled over for it. (i have clear sidemarkers and green neons, i get compliments from the cops we have up at work for security).

TXPOC Fall Bash Track Meet!!!

Alright guys I think its time to put together a meet where the guys from Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri, as well as the guys from Austin, San Antonio, and Houston come down to Dallas where the real races take place. We discussed this last night at the meet in Oklahoma. The track is the Texas Motorplex located in Ennis, Tx.

Starting in November they are having Saturday test and tune days. I am unsure of what the time schedule will be, but I am sure its from around 10am-4pm. The date I think we should shoot for is November 8th. We could make a weekend out of it, just like the Kansas meet. This thread is basically a interest building thread, but we would need to make a decision soon so that arrangements could be made and people have time to ask off. Poor in your input.

Neon's + LED's

As for underbody Neon's and LED's...

I work for CarToys, and we sell a lot of aftermarket performance and lights, etc. for cars...and this question as to legality has been asked by every guy wanting lights on his ride.

Well, we happen to work in Shenandoah's jurisdiction...SPEED TRAP!...most of the officers come in to the store quite often...and I've asked them this question (I've also spoken with County Mounties, Constables, HPD, etc.)...

Are Underbody lights legal?

Well, the general rule of thumb is that as long as the bulbs are not showing it usually will not be an issue, you can have the lights on when parked(this is legal), however you do run a risk if your driving when they are on....Now, the officers I spoke with said they would not pull someone over just for lights...they would have to speeding/driving recklessly....and then they would write up a ticket for the lights!

Also red and blue are more likely to cause you to get stopped! So consider another color when buying them!

Hope this helps!
