I'm looking at a 93 2.0 ATX fixer upper right now. It belongs to a dealer and I would be able to buy it through my cousin (also a dealer) wholesale.

The price is really low. I haven't seen the car yet but I do know that it's at a shop right now. It will run fine when cold, but when warmed up, it doesn't want to idle. Without seeing it run (I'll hopefully look Thursday), I'm trying to see what all it could be. I'm thinking MAF or (hopefully not) head gasket

My experience is with the V-6 5 speed combination, but I'd buy this 4cyl ATX just to get it back on the road, drive it for 3 months or so, then sell it and hopefully get another 5 speed. Otherwise this one might sit on this dealer's lot forever.

Any thoughts on if it's worth it? It's below $1000.

Do it!

Also, since I no longer have one, I can sell/give you back your Haynes and shop manuals. :)

Hopefully I'll be getting another one in a year or so.

id say go for it. imo the i4 is much more reliable than the v6. does the car run hot? running hot would make it run like crap. be a nice winter beater even if it doesnt idle.... i think thats what im going to end up doing with my rs. drive it this winter while im fixing up the LS

Thanks for the input. It's not looking too good right now. I thought I had my Protege5 sold but today found out their loan didn't go through.

So I can't get this MX6 until I sell my Protege. I did have someone look at it. It's red with alloy wheels and sunroof, in decent shape look-wise. I don't think it would be a big deal to have repaired. Hopefully my Pro will sell soon.
