There is a slight noise lower than the sound of the engine coming from the left front. It is definitely coming from the running gear. Not a clicking so no CV joint. Car steers fine going down the road. The best time to hear it is when coasting and letting the speed go down to around 40.

My question: If you get the car up to 50, put it in neutral and let it coast, and you keep hearing the low noise sound until you stop, does that eliminate the possibility it is coming from the transmission ? If so, then it must be the wheel bearing that is starting to gradually wear out.

I switched out the hub with another. The noise is gone. The only noise now on the road is the purring engine. Here is a photo of the backside of the hub. That wheel seal was loose letting dirt in. For reference, the noise was just a low noise, lower than the engine noise. Not a rumbling or clicking or humming. Maybe like a railroad track every once in a while. This is probably just in the early stages of failure.
