I want to lower my car and get some nice rims for it. i have a 1989 mx-6 GT, what do i need to do this, can i do it my self and where are some good places to shop for springs and rims on line? thansk for all you help!
Replacing the springs/struts is really not too hard. you will need a spring compressor (for McPherson struts), some metric sockets and wrenches, and a repair manual would come in handy if you've never done it before. Now that I've done it before I can have one strut RR'ed in about 10 min. I can scan you the pages if you need them. For parts, I got my springs and struts at http://www.summitracing.com also http://www.nopi.com has many parts , but they have the worst customer service I've ever experienced and I will never use them again. Good luck Oh yeah, check on Ebay for some rims, thats where I got mine, and at a great price too!
