Never really tried. I've always used b-12 chemtool for the gas. Seems a lot harsher and gasoline-ier. I really don't pay attention to the gas anymore now that I only fill with Chevron or Texaco. It's the good stuff for a reason.
It woks ok in the gas tank, but no real difference. If you have a knock under the hood that stuff works wonders, I know from first hand experience. The best stuff for the tank is seafoam. Comes in a white aluminum can and works far better then the rest!
Good stuff, especially for our motor's top end. It acts as a cleaning agent and seems to help quiet things down. I actually use it more often in the gas than the oil.
to my engine oil....hoping that it will bring the tick'g down to low decibles vs. it's current jack hammer like presence that is driving me up the wall:E
how long b4 i should start noticing the effects do y'all think? 500 miles? 1000?
I'll keep the faith and advise how it works on my car!
uuhh... I thought it's the stuff like "motor flush"... where you put it in run the car for 5 min, then drain oil. Maybe not... I dunno... I'm goin to wally-world to get some oil, etc tomorrow to change my oil..... it's about that time.
Well, for those of us with Naturally aspirated vehicles.... It's probably fine for them...
I've used "gunk-motor flush" in the past, and it's fun to watch the crap that comes out of your oilpan (almost like sick pleasure?)... you can't believe some of that stuff was in there... chunks come out almost.. (this was in my old 90 maxima with well over 200k miles... my father was the original owner.. I got it in 1995...crapped out in early 2003).
I almost used some flush the other day but I was scared of those big chunks clogging me up. I keep hearing great things about Auto-Rx so I may try that for a more gentle approach.
also try if you want it really cheap but good try atf in your oil.
wow wait i sec did he say atf?
yes automatic tranny fluid because of the high detergent content. but mix it with your oil of our four liters use 3.5liters and add a 0.5 of a liter of tranny fluid.
I used Marvel Mystery Oil, it worked great. I was told to put it in with fresh oil, then after about 1000-1500 miles change your oil again. it quieted the hla's to an almost non-exsistant tick. You have to be under the hood, and listening for it to hear the tick.
