Ugh! My master cylinder when bad on Easter and ended up costing me $395 and a whole day waiting for it. The question I have is. The one they put on isn't the exact same as the one that they took off. The bracket thing that holds onto the container that holds the brake fluid doesn't go anywhere near it. Can different master cylinders work? The car seems to stop fine now and there isn't that scary petal-sinking-to-the-floor feeling.

I don't think it matters about the bracket. What matters is how badly you got raped on the price. $400 dollars, sheesh.

Ya, that's a crazy price. I just installed a new master cylinder and bled the brakes in 2 hours. and it only cost $54 canadian ($27 american). I'd stay away from that clown from now on.
