Appreciate it man. Let's just bury the hatchet and keep this thread clean (not your fault). But seriously Spannerhead lost a car he liked a lot, he did clean work and I respect that
Good input. If you look at the skid marks, the car rotated about 10-20 degrees clockwise just before the hit, so the front left corner took the brunt of the impact. Not sure how that affected what got damaged in the engine bay.Spannerhead stop opening the doors until both fenders are removed, they are scratching and it can mess with the door hinges.
You can't move the shifter because the motor and transmission are shifted back and the shift rod is binding, the transmission usually gets forced in 1,3 or 5th and the shifter can't be pulled back to neutral or 2,4,R. The release fork / clutch wont prevent the transmission from shifting when the engine isn't running. The change rod support has a rubber connection that bends and rips before the transmission suffers internal damage. From the look of the hit the clutch forque and slave wont have been damaged.
Until the hood, fenders and bumper is off it's hard to tell just how much damage there is (mainly the firewall where the front rails meet it).
Still radio silence from the other driver's insurance. Was hoping to get her home, but the overall tow bill is $700+ and I don't have that cash on hand at the moment, so I'll have to let her insurance pay for that before I can get her home and really assess what's usable and what's not.
