yoo all :p

1. how much would a clogged CAT reduce fuel economy by?

2. i want to know what this thing is that is seaping little bit of oil...it is on the left/top of the dissy cap and it screws in to the metal...it is about 2cm wide with a base that is undone with a spanner(about 2-3cm base i estimate) and it is about 8cm tall(looks similiar to the O2 sensor but is thicker)
it is leaking some oil which trickled it's way down into my dissy cap which was loose...anyway..i just wanna know what this thing is so i can replace it

thanks guys :)

1) depends how blocked up it is! Bottom line is that its restricting the flow, thus youre loosing power (& economy).

2) sounds like the oil pressure or temp sensor. Not sure, because I havent looked at mine (Im at work, and the car is at home!)

ducktape, if it is urgent then i suggest that you do a search..

there was a thread a while ago which posted a link to another site which had several scans of a workshop manual. it shows a complete breakdown of the dash and i believe everything under the bonnet also.

i would post the link up if i could (its in my favourites), but im at work and my favourites are at home.

p.s. this sensor/switch or whatever it is; is pointing vertically upwards and had wires coming out of it which are taped up into 1 semi-thick wire

i have an inkling it is some sort of temperature sensor since it is above the thermostat..but NOT actually on the thermostat

ok the mechanic said it is an oil sensor...which must mean there are 2 oil sensors in the car...the other one i know is closer to the firewall next to oil pump/filter..\
however, the one that is leaking is slightly bigger than the one closer to the firewall...
anyone can confirm what it is?
