yes... Yes they will.... Both will. I have no idea why you would consider a 1.6L/ 1.8L BP, though.

Those other responses above are sarcasm. Many members here are not familiar with what is to be new to the site. They [appear to have always known] everything about the 6 and MX6.com and find it difficult to understand why others were not blessed like them.

The essence of their sarcasm is possibly to persuade you to search this website regarding the information you desire. Quite a few people have succeeded with these engine swaps and posted their results and other information on this site. Just gotta search for more details.

there is also a 88-92 probe v6 motor, but i have only seen them in salvage yards, and never in the 88-92 mx6, though if the probe and mx6 have teh same motors, i wouldnt see why you couldnt be the first to try this swap, alot of members have talked about this mysterious v6 months ago.

The Probe line started in '89.

The 1st gen V6 Probe has a completely different subframe. It would be a huge amount of work to get it to work and would be useless as the F2t is more powerfull than it anyways.

Darion, The B6T and BPT are extremely competent motors for a lightweight car such as the 323 or miata. The heavier 6 benefits from the added torque the F series motor has.

To my knowledge no one has publicly announced putting a B series motor in a '6. It would require custom mounts, a complete wiring harness/ECU swap, and either a bellhousing adaptor to the F series transmission, or running custom length axles and shift linkage from a B series transmission.

It could be done, but a FE-DOHC swap is drop in and makes more power out of the box.

The K series V6's would require subframe modifications to support them, as well as custom mounts. A better platform for this motor is the 1st gen Escort GT or the V6 MX-3.

The K series motors have a nice flat torque curve, but a horsepower output that is similar to the F2t. Personally, I like driving torque spiking 4 cylinders over a smooth V6, just for the fun factor.

As for your "insults" to the search "nazi's", just remember that everytime you personally attack someone it lowers peoples opinions of you. Attack the argument, not the person.

The "mysterious motor" you guys are talking about are not "mysterious" at all or all that rare. At least not here in Ohio. They only came in Probe GLs. It's the Ford 3.0L (think Taurus). It's overwieght [more so than base and GT Probes (in comparison to 6s]) and way underpowered.

And I still don't know why anyone would perform this swap. Less torque and only a small horsepower gain. I just don't understand is all. Sounds great for the 323/ Escort/ Protege/ Tracer and other lighter cars, but not all that nice sounding in the heavier Probes and 6s. Just curious is all.

EDIT: them and their argument and their momma's argument, too. LOL Just kiddin. In reality, I don't care what you or others online (or in person in most cases) "opinions" are or may be of me.

Please tell me.. Somebody... ANYBODY... Tell me why I should give a EDIT: Again, don't bypass the curse blocker. about people online (behind keyboards and monitors) and their "opinions".

I already stated this.

Theres much better motors (SHO anyone?) that could be swapped. Nobody reccomened this swap.

True, I may never meet you in person, but our online "persona's" are nothing more than an extension of ourselves. Would you be a complete jerk to someone on the phone because they are 100 miles away?

If you want people to listen to your advice, reply to your posts, or give you advice you need their respect. You might have the most indepth knowledge of the '6 on this site, but if your an ass than nobody will want to listen to you...

Trust me, this comes from experience of me being there. :)

--Chances are even if I did decide to care for even one second, I'd find that 9 times out of 10, they'd be wrong

Thats an aweful arrogant statement, but assuming you do know all about the '6 you'll have a hard time convincing people you do with the way you go about business.

This is a "family oriented" site. That is why their is a board censor. Purposely misspelling a word so that your point is taken is not only against the rules, but offensive to some people. This goes for your "fhuck" too.

--You probably don't road race
--You don't road race me

I don't road race. I don't like injuring people or paying tickets. Once, when I was young, arrogant and immature I road raced. Now I have a wife and baby. No need to put myself in any danger when I have other people to take care off.

Theres an old saying that goes like this: "If you don't have anything good to say, Don't say anything at all."

Theres another saying: "Better to keep your mouth shut and look like a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Please tell me.. Somebody... ANYBODY... Tell me why I should give a EDIT: about people online (behind keyboards and monitors) and their "opinions".
Because, regardless of what medium you are using to communicate, they are still REAL people.

Just because they can't hit you in the face for what you said, doesn't mean you can't offend them.

Grow up.

There is a thing called respect. You dont have it, and never will with this attitude.

To further remove respect for you, GL Probes did not have the 6 cylinder. The 6 came in the LX probe only from 1990-1992. The GL was the n/a 2.2. Do research before you post trying to look knowledgeable.

Since this thread is being hijacked, One further reason to respect people online, is that if you don't, and you treat other people in the community like crap, they will eject you from that community - which is possible(since this is a privately run site) and has happened before.

Anyway, back on topic, I don't know this for sure, but I have also heard that it is possible to swap the 90-92 Probe LX engine for the Taurus SHO, since they are pretty much the same. (Please correct me if I'm wrong on this but.....) Of course that would make a great frankstein car, a Ford Designed by Mazda with a Yamaha Engine. Now if we could only work some Honda(intake/stickers/steering/suspension), Nissan(um, wheels, j-spec projector lights, seats?) and GM(???) parts we'd have the perfect car - completely unique, utterly impossible to find parts for, and one that ricers would scoff at, and the domestic lovers would claim is rice, muahahahahaha...

Theres a guy on Probetalk that has been working on this swap for over a year. He has a full website documenting its progress. I wish I had bookmarked it.

Anyways, the point of my post is, The engines are very different, and its vastly more complicated than just "dropping it in".

Here is a link to that guy's site. Looks like there was a bit of custom stuff (drive shafts) that had to go into that swap. Oh well. I think it falls out of the "oh it's a straight swap if you have a Probe LX" category and into "You can do anything if you have enough time and money - how much do you want to spend?"

Sorry for having to put you through my long winded post to Darion. I think he's been set straight as he's behaving well in other theads now :)

Don't buy a honda. Their messageboards are 100 times worse than this.

Feel free to PM me any questions you have. There is no stupid question of you PM me.
