I have found a decent looking aftermarket muffler for the Ford Probe at one of my local dealers in the UK (none for the mx6) Does anyone know will it fit? are ther hangers in the same position on both cars?

Well, from what I think is that a muffler can be put from a probe to a mx-6. Honestly, I would get a direct fit muffler. Someone that makes nice aftermarket exhausts and probably cheaper in the UK is Remus they have it for the mx-6 and probe. you have to check it out even though it is in german. go to the muffler shop and ask them about it.
