Can someone with a 1993MX6-V6 factory springs, MTX, roof,
no A/C (well doesn't matter), no "additional" stereo etc
make the following measurements for me:-
o centre-of-axle to fender-lip height
o tire to fender-lip height (spec tire size)
o indicate whether US or Canadian spec

I need slightly more ground clearance than 93PGT springs
offers, and 93MX6 should be about 0.25" higher or around
that area for 1993. Also 160lb/in vs 190lb/in on top.

o 93PGT.... - 14.50" axle-centre to fender-lip
o 626V6-5dr - 14.25" (tilting forward drive so ~14.50")
o 93MX6-MTX - ??.??
o 95PGT.... - 15.25"

Thanks, anytime when convenient.

Can't measure mine as I have Intrax springs Julian, but here are the stock spring specs for the 626 and MX-6 from the 94 shop manual.

626 KL enigine/MTX

Wire diameter: 13mm
Coil outer diameter: 175mm
Free length: 353mm
Coil number: 3.57

Rear right:

Wire diameter: 11mm
Coil outer diameter: 122-152mm
Free length: 332mm
Coil number: 4.92

Rear left:

Wire diameter: 11mm
Coil outer diameter: 122-152mm
Free length: 338mm
Coil number: 5.24

MX-6 KL engine/MTX

Front:

Wire diameter: 13mm
Coil outer diameter: 175mm
Free length: 301mm
Coil number: 2.94

Rear right:

Wire diameter: 11mm
Coil outer diameter: 122-152mm
Free length: 275mm
Coil number: 3.94

Rear left:

Wire diameter: 11mm
Coil outer diameter: 122-152mm
Free length: 279mm
Coil number: 4.08

I've also got the specs for all the combination of engine and transmission for both the MX-6 and 626 US spec cars for 94. If you wnat I can scan and e-mail the page to you, then you can compare it to the same spec sheet for a Probe. I think Mike has the shop manual for one. e-mail me if you need it.

Thanks for that spring data. Here is how it compares to the
UK Mazda shop manual. What I need next is 93ProbeGT data.

Front: 626 MX6 UK-626 UK-MX6
Free length: 353mm 301mm 345mm 301mm (13mm wire)
Coil number: 3.57 2.94 3.52 2.86
Rear-left: 626 MX6 UK-626 UK-MX6
Free length: 338mm-11mm 279mm-11mm 306mm-12mm 279mm-11mm
Coil number: 5.24 4.08 4.95 4.08

UK 626-V6s sit a little lower, the 306mm-12mm spring I
think is == 333mm-11mm (probably wrong but I know the
UK-626-5dr isn't so weight-different to US-626V6-4dr).

Essentially:
o World-MX6 front are 44mm shorter than UK-626
--- Correlates with 160lb/in vs 140lb/in
o World-MX6 rear are ~54mm shorter than UK-626

That figures about right, I recall the UK car was about
1.5" higher (160lb/in vs 140lb/in) rate. The rear of the
626-5dr is a bit heavier than an MX6, not significantly,
around 100lbs or so - or basically fuel/junk differences.

Q: Now all I need is the PGT spec data :)

I'm a 93-626V6 with 93-PGT springs on, I suspect 93-MX6
will ride ~0.25" higher, and 160lb/in is usefully softer
than 190lb/in re deteriorating roads.
