MX6 NOT spotting...

Drove up from Bournemouth via M4, M5, M6, Chester to Bangor, then Bangor to Preston on Thursday. All in all, 12 hours driving including a 2 hour stop at my daughter's place in Bangor. All thanks to the M5 being closed.

Drove back from Preston to Bournemouth in 5 hours on Friday afternoon.

Not another MX6 in sight the whole journey... :(

The good news is that the fuel consumption was great. Filled up after 260 miles and had only used 38 litres. The bad news is that it used a 1/2 pint of oil on the way up.

So who was it that waved to me in the blue one today, just past the Bakers arms????

Shortly after a very nice guy in an RX8 invited me to play catch up, he was dead nice he didnt want a race just a blast to see how the cars compared ( he used to have a 6), first time thats happened to me. Anyways assuming he was pushing it I wasnt impressed I easily kept up in fact a couple times i felt i was out accelerating him, in the end he flashed the brake lights, pulled over and said he was giving up, we complimented eachother and I went on my merry way, what a nice chap. I didnt ask, but I assume it was the 190. It was a very twisty road tho, I was raised in the country and knowledge of that road made it easy for me to drive hard. Maybe he wasnt trying too hard.

Nice one marty

I think the 6 will hold the tail of either rx8 at speed. Is doenst have that much torque in fact the 190 has more than the 230.

Ok.

Canterbury, Kent, St Dunstan's area on Friday. Lovely looking Red MX6, big alloys. That you Ben?

You probably noticed me waiving like a loon from the Ford Ka I was in, or perhaps not.

Pursuit of MX6

Leaving the ruins of inner city Hythe this afternoon on a top secret mission to seek urgent supplies (AKA a trip to the B&Q Warehouse) I followed a silver K reg 6 with sports exhaust all the way up the A326!!

I didn't go too fast because I thought the NFPD might be watching.

Any takers - BTW I don't think this is the silver 6 I have spotted before as I am pretty certain that is an M reg.

regards,

Marty - was that you I passed heading towards Ringwood on the Wessex Way about 12:30 today?

If so, sorry mate. I flashed to say 'Hello', not 'Get out of the way'... ;) Hence the wave too.

No Ken, I was busy under the car yesterday sorting my oil leak, besides, when someone comes up behind me and flashes, I just speed up..lol, or slow down. Im sure I see you sometimes, but your always the other side of a roundabout etc, got to be you, cant think of anyone else round here with a red 6 that shiny. ;)

Well, that's a blessing Marty. From the look the other driver gave me as he pulled over, I hoped I hadn't upset someone on the Board... (again) ;)

Shiny? S'funny - Mop said the same thing when he saw me the other week. I didn't think it was that good. Must look better from a distance...

Went to Halfrauds today to get a new CD player and spotted another 'red' parked opposite. The owner was just getting in so I went and had a quick chat, flyer in hand. :)

Turns out he's only had the car 4 weeks. He bought it for his wife as he has a company car. But he much prefers driving the 6 - no surprise there then. :D

Anyway, hopefully another new member - if you get here, welcome...

Ken

Oh yes, the CD player - I got an Alpine CDM9812RB. Nice and shiny, plays MP3s too and can be upgraded with a CD changer in the future.

Anybody want to buy a Clarion ARX6170R radio cassette player complete with 6 CD changer? The display's gone a bit dim but otherwise it works a treat.
....edit.... Went back and swapped the 8907 for a 9812 as the 07 didn't play .mp3's...
