Just got it running last week.
After a couple years in my garage.
Bought it with rod through the pan, into the exhaust.
Found a KLZE with a free MX6, body is every bit as good as this one, but an automatic.
Well got just a bit of water in that engine, and stuck the valves on #1 open. I had also bought a KLDE JDM had it shipped in from northern Ohio, again a gamble it had sat for 10 years in guys shop. But hey it was cheap.
So then more searching found a G5M from an escort, wanted to regear it, so tore it down, found out I didn't have he parts, to swap the ring/pinion, so settled for the 717 fifth gear.
So after it languished for a year in the corner of the shop, I had another project needed done, so the PGT had to get out.
These cars are extremely rare around here today, makes findi g parts a challenge... I got the mx-6 and another PGT for parts. If someone wanted the mx-6 I have a title to it, but this is not a sale post, just wanted to share...

That first pic.... Damn!!
I've always like the Ford Probe. IMHO they look even better with a kit. Both the Probe and MX-6 are rare these days. It's like everyone just junked theirs overnight to me but in all likelihood the decline was much slower than that.
Ever notice how generally any car from this year group haven't really garnered any sort popularity with the exception of maybe one or two other cars.
Maybe its something that is yet to come for us but these cars are definitely underrated. I'm glad to see you kept yours and hear a little bit of the history of it.

I work a lot during the week, So its rare to stop anyplace.
I dropped in at Oreillys to get some brake cleaner, clean up an A/C compressor off a parts PGT.
Old man walking out noticed it, had to chat for five minutes.
Then next stop at Wal-MArt for some R-134a I always park by the tire center.
Instant attention, guy asked want to sell it, I popped off $3500 thinking it was way high, the guy was seriously interested. I finally told him, just got it running right this week. Rather enjoy it for a bit. He said let me know I'm interested.
I guess both my compressors have bad clutches. Even hot wired to battery neither will engage. :(
My Chilton manual is trash when it comes to A/C...
Everything wroks switchs, pressure switches, etc just won't engage a clutch, even jumpering the low pressure swicth on the dryer....
