with all due respect, fuck microtech, fuck installation.

top of the line ms2 with v3 = 250USD stim = 60usd loom = 60USD wbo2 = 200usd home install and tune = free. having it outperform said microtech and "pro" tuner = priceless.

you can do it without the stim and wbo2, but why?

your cut prices are about right, but ecus need not cost what you think.

there are commercial equivalents that cost less than your figures too...

How did it go?

long story, but I have a 2.0l fe3n DOHC motor to put in the hole where a 1.8 DOHC moyor came out due to carcked head.
Now truth is, I didnt realise the original motor was 1.8, it was a 94 ford telstar station wagon Jap import with no markings. It had FE3N on the head, so I found a guy who sent me a Gold top 2.0L DOHC out of a 88 mx6 .
SO here I am wondering if this girl is going to go with a 2.0 in th same hole.
I did some reserch on wiki, seems that they have same bore, same exhaust cam, same head, same block, diff intake cam, different stroke.
I would put the whole 1.8 intake manifold and wiring on to 2.0 long block, but I am wondering with the extra lift and duration in cam and 200cc bigger engine, will it idle correctly? WHat about the fuel map from the 1.8 ecu? It is a hot wire system...but who knows what will happen? I want to know if you did it your self, mind you it seems you are usinf non-stock ecu? Any comments guys? Cheers. Azz in Dunedin NZ

not ideal, but should be ok if you use all the external stuff. hotwire will meter and supply correct fuel.

idle should be based on narrow o2 readings anyway.

you still have the f8 bottom end, you could just swap the heads, and enjoy the better cams.

as far as i could see that has a grand total of ZERO to do with the fe or fe 12v or fe3 which are not the same. you have been given good advice from all corners, use some of it.
