Hi guys.
Long time no speak.
I got another problem (sorry-- I only write when I got problems).

Please help (very close to scrapping my car).

I need to replace my transmission.

I own a manual '89 MX6 GT turbo. I am looking to replace my tranny with an 'automatic '91 626 transmission'.

Are the bolts and the hosing from an 'automatic '91 626 transmission' the same as a manual '89 MX6 GT turbo transmission (my car that I'm dropping the tranny into)?

I searched but couldn't find this info elsewhere.

The deal is going, going, gone ($100). This deal could allow me to keep my mx6. Please help me!

Any info you could provide would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

It will bolt up. But you will need alot more than just the trans. Is it a turbo 626? I need to know that before I list everything you will need for the swap.

tranny

Sorry. I didn't give that info.

It's a non-turbo 626 tranny ('91 auto) going into an '89 mx6 GT turbo (manual).

Just a quick comment. The auto trannys for N/A are fragile, you may have reliability issues by putting it into a GT. If you go ahead, buy a new tranny cooler, inline filter, etc... just to be safe.

IMHO.

If it touches the trans, you will need to change it. Quite literally, everything. You will also need the wiring and the ATX ECU. Which is seperate on the 88-89. It is located where the clutch pedal would be, inside the car. You will also need to check interchange on the 88-89 and 90-92 ATX trans. That could be another issue all together. Anything else?

Well so what your saying is that if your can get the 626 atx N/A tranny to work on you mx-6 MTX turbo, then your going to scrap your mx-6? Well man, I hate to tell you this but its going to require alot of work to convert you MTX into ATX, just for a tranny that may not even hold up to the Torque the Turbo version puts down (not to mention that going from MTX to ATX is a downgrade), so basicly your going to have to scrap your car.
But Wait....I wouldn't, whats the problem with getting another F2T tranny, Mazda wants too much money for one??? can't find one in the junkies?? A rebuild cost too much? Can't even find a used F2T tranny on the net?
If the answer to all of these questions is yes then I guess your going to have to scrap your car, but since your going to scrap your car anyway why don't you atempt a tranny rebuild yourself, IMHO this would be the cheapest way. Since you were going to scrap the car anyway you might as well give it a try..if you suceed you get to keep your mx-6 if you don't well at least you tried and you were going to scrap her anyway.

Don't give up on your MX-6 so easily.
